DC SAFE Annual Events

Please join us for a thought-provoking event, featuring special guest Rachel Louise Snyder, award-winning author and longtime DC SAFE supporter. Rachel's recent New York Times piece questions the typical decision of domestic violence organizations to keep their shelter locations secret.

With the recent opening of our new shelter, we look forward to engaging with our community on this important topic. During the event on May 1st, our Executive Director, Natalia Otero, and Shelter Director, Michelle Sewell, will join Rachel in conversation to explore the transformative power of transparency and community connection in shaping shelter policies. Every October during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we hold our flagship Keep DC SAFE event. We take this time to honor our community partners and recognize one another’s achievements in the field. We come together to raise funds for DC SAFE and raise awareness about domestic violence issues in D.C. Click here for this year’s event photo album!

Stay tuned upcoming information about the 2024 event!
