DC SAFE Annual Events

In the FALL

Every October during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we hold our flagship Keep DC SAFE event. We take this time to honor our community partners and recognize one another’s achievements in the field. We come together to raise funds for DC SAFE and raise awareness about domestic violence issues in D.C. Check out this year’s photo album.

In the SPRING

At our last luncheon, we featured special guest Rachel Louise Snyder, award-winning author and longtime DC SAFE supporter. Rachel's New York Times piece questions the typical decision of domestic violence organizations to keep their shelter locations secret. With the recent opening of our new shelter, we wanted to engage with our community on this important topic. During the event, our Executive Director, Natalia Otero, and Shelter Director, Michelle Sewell, joined Rachel in conversation to explore the transformative power of transparency and community connection in shaping shelter policies.
